Battlefield Hardline
As the latest iteration of the Battlefield series by EA, Hardline moves away from the explosive warmongering of the armies in games three and four and instead brings it down to a more realistic level. This may sound like a sharp downgrade from the other games, but after playing the previously released PS4 beta a month prior, I'd actually say that I prefer what Hardline offered over the last two titles.
Trapped Dead: Lockdown Beta
With the current video game market simply oozing the undead and every part of popular culture featuring some mention of their rotten skin or dulled, bestial eyes, it has become incredibly difficult to create an original title that has some flair and creativity to it. Between the copies of the Walking Dead, the 'infected' and the post-apocalyptic dreariness, we have managed to envelop ourselves in them.
Alone in the Dark Illumination Beta
Alone in the Dark where have you been? All the way back in '92 I think is when I was hooked with this series. This is a survival horror game a good 5 years before Resident Evil, but as this was a PC series with little budget for marketing at the time, the fan base was small compared to the might of Sony, Capcom and Resident Evil!
Clandestine
I got a chance to try a new game in very early access from Logic Artists. Clandestine is a 2 player co-op stealth/hacking game set in the 90's. Now I don't do stealth as I have no patience with these games and feel the worst offenders were the early Splinter Cell games from Ubisoft as they had you crouch down, hide while the NPC's would do their animation for maybe 2-5 minutes and wait for this to finish before you could move on with the next part of the mission. That was not fun!
Dragon Age: Inquisition Gameplay Launch Trailer – A Wonderful World
Ok so here we have the new Dragon Age: Inquisition launch trailer, now I really like this trailer for a number of reasons and the first one is very simple, unlike a lot of launch trailers this one doesn’t have a monologue throughout any part of the trailer, not that I don’t like a monologue through the trailer but that is a good thing with doing something different
Animal Gods alpha sneak peek
Today I got the opportunity to look at the pre-alpha (conceptual) build of a game currently on kickstarter called 'Animal Gods [Reborn]'. Its setting is Bronze Age England, focused around a female lead called 'Thistle'. It is important to the fantastical style of the game that it occurs in a period that is half remembered myth.
Formula Force Racing
It’s a common misconception to see good racing games on mobile devices as all being quite bad, often they’re riddled with “Pay to win” mechanics and are generally not that fun to play as a result. But now 3 former members from some of Britain’s acclaimed game studios, including SCE Studio Liverpool, Bizarre Creations and Digital Image Design.
The Next Car Game
The Next Car Game is an upcoming racing game made from the people who brought you Flatout. Flatout games were for the previous generation of consoles, and the objective of the games were to use your car in many different ways. Whether it be bowling or racing or being shot across an American football field. Well, they're back now with a new game, and it seems they're not quite sure what to call it.
Mad Max
As you may be aware, I have always had a soft spot for post apocalyptic games. Rage and Fallout 3 have been highly successful in the past and they have also been some of the best games on the market. So when I heard that a Mad Max game had been announced, I had to have a look and see what was being offered!
