I got a chance to try a new game in very early access from Logic Artists. Clandestine is a 2 player co-op stealth/hacking game set in the 90's. Now I don't do stealth as I have no patience with these games and feel the worst offenders were the early Splinter Cell games from Ubisoft as they had you crouch down, hide while the NPC's would do their animation for maybe 2-5 minutes and wait for this to finish before you could move on with the next part of the mission. That was not fun!

But, even with my limited time with Clandestine, I managed to shoot about 8 people in the face before getting spotted and shot dead. This is what is needed in a modern stealth game: the option, if things go wrong, to be able to fight your way out. I think the new Metal Gear Solid games have mastered this and I think that’s why Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes was such a masterful game to play through, as it gave you multiple options for any given situation that you were in.

Of course, I'm not going to say that Clandestine is in the same league as MGS 5 and remember this is still in early access. There are a few glitches and frame rate issues but the foundation of a solid game are already in place.

The main problem I had was with the hacking in the game, and even in the so called training mission, is I had to reset the game as I got stuck with no idea as to how or what was needed to get a door security code. Maybe I just missed something simple, and that might be the case, but I feel in the training mission this should have been easily spelled out for you so that you understand what you need to do in the future.

Other than that, the game played well and is already game pad supported so for all you guys looking for a classic stealth game but not sure about WASD on the keyboard, grab an old 360 pad and plug it in to your trusty PC. It really makes a difference and now almost all Steam games support game pads.

So with some simple tweaks, I feel that this game can go on for greatness. Maybe not MGS 5 levels of sales but I think it will find a really good niche with its audience. As for the co-op, I'll have to try this out at a later date. But from what I have read about the mode, one plays the game as normal and the other has access to the security cameras in overwatch and will try to keep you aid the other player through the level.

Lastly, if anyone does already have this game please message us and we can try and get some co-op goodness done and see if we have the team skills to complete each mission.
