Now I've never been tremendously big fan of chess. When I was younger I felt obligated to learn the game, I felt like it was the gentleman's game. I realized that was terrible of the game and then I gave up. Years later, here comes castling. Is it chess? No. Is it like chess? Sorta. Does it have chess pieces that move as they do in the real game? Absolutely. Is addicting and super fun? Also yes.
Castling is not your typical chess game. You do have the standard array of chess pieces and their iconic movement schemes as you would expect from any given chess piece. Your goal is really the same as it would be in a normal game of chess, kill your opponents king. However, you're only given a limited number of pieces to do it.
Think of this game as a “chess puzzle.” Go ahead, be skeptical. In fact, I encourage it, be skeptical all you like. Go try it and you’ll see for yourself just how brilliant this game is. Experience the thrill of taking out your opponents king. Then follow that up with the stinging laughter as your futile attempts to be awesome fall one after another. The surviving king will laugh at you. He will laugh at you every time you fail, and you will fail a lot. In the end however, you’ll realize how much fun you’re having while you fail. Trust me, I speak from experience in the failure department.
